A public official was fired because he told a woman that he would not give her husband a job unless she had sex with him.

    So, basically, we don't know what kind of perv was fired. Was he the voyeuristic perv or the adulterous perv? Hmm. Regardless, three cheers for him being fired.

    My first thought was that he was just looking out for the husband, trying to save the marriage, something like that.

    That was my first thought too. Poor guy--he's just misunderstood. (But then, it's probably not so ambiguous when the pronoun options are either "he" or "me.")
