Yeah! Summer-Time! Feel it! In your Spider-Bones!

Spider-Man.

So early buzz isn't as ecstatic for Spider-Man 3 as it was for 2, so I guess it's okay that the Fobs aren't around to go see it with. And, although I liked 2, I did not like 1, so viewing 3 is not all that urgent.

And Pirates 2 was nothing near as good as 1, so I may be able to get through this summer blockbuster free.

Except....

Except there is this little thing called Transformers.

Transformers.

Well!

I've been thinking about going through all the movies slated for this summer and in one big long post talking about how sorry I will be to miss them, but it's too sad. No Shrek. No License to Wed (but thurs is still available). No Bourne. No Stardust. No No Reservations (not a double negative). No Ocean's Thirteen. (No Ocean's Thirteen?!?!) No Nancy Drew. No September Dawn (and thank goodness for that). No Paris, Je T'Aime. In fact, all I think I'm apt to see are that robot movie mentioned above and Pixar's Ratatouille (which is a sure bet and maybe if I pay him ten bucks, John Lasseter will give me a job. John?).

Boy oh boy. The summer movie season is upon us.

Let's dance.

  1. I, for one, am most definitely going to go see Pirates. Period. Other than that, I haven't really seen any previews that catch my eye enough to make me want to run to the box office.

  2. P.S. That Spider-man thing... Freaky.

  3. I just got home from seeing S 3.

    It was OK.

    Granted, I didn't see S 2, so I guess that's not saying much. :)

  4. I was wondering how you could possibly forego Pirates, but then I remembered that I'm only going for two reasons: Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Both reasons being clad in pirate garb, nonetheless. I just don't see you going for that reason.

Also, I wouldn't write off Nancy Drew just yet. I think it could be entertaining.

  5. Spiderman 3 was actually better than 2. Too bad you're not seeing any movies this summer.

And what about Fantastic 4, which admittedly didn't really do much the first time around, but Nemesis' bf, even Ioan Gruffudd, looks so stinkin' hot even without the accent . . . and when you're at the movies with a teenager, everything looks good. Remember those days? When you never saw a bad movie because you didn't have the gift of discernment?

  6. Actually, I'm still there. It's nice.

I really really want to see Transformers but I fear it will suck. Oh well. I'll see it anyway, and thanks to aforementioned lack of discernment, will probably enjoy it.

  7. I really want to see Spiderman 3.

My boy and I are itching to see them both, but HP5 and Transformers will probably wait until they're on DVD so we can ClearPlay 'em - my husband has no interest, and I won't let Junior see unedited PG13's until he is 13. And maybe not even after that.

My family will go see Shrek if it's PG, and probably Ratatouille.

My husband and I will go see Pirates and will probably wait for Ocean's Thirteen and Bourne Whatevery.

I like movies, but it's so much easier (and cheaper) to get 'em from the RedBox.
