Today in Primary.....
(svithe material)

....was the Big O's first chance to give the scripture and prayer in Primary, so we've been practicing all week and he's been getting pretty good at it. Then it came time to stand in front of all the other kids and I went with him, then the shyness hit and his ear stuck to his shoulder and he fell face-first into my chest and nearly knocked me over and that was pretty much that.

For those of you wondering what it was he was trying to say, this was it:
For, behold, the Comforter knoweth all things, and beareth record of the Father and of the Son.

When we got home, we tried it again and it turned out much better:

last week's svithe

  1. Could you put it on Youtube? It seems to have been posted in a Microsoft proprietary format, so my Mac can't understand it (despite having Microsoft Windows Media Player installed). In today's day and age, there's really no need to use Microsoft only video file formats, is there??? =)

Looking forward to watching the performance.

  2. I was hoping you would blog about his talk today! It was the darnedest thing I had ever seen -- his head was forced over towards you in some goat-like head-butt (except he didn't care what part of you he was head-butting). I have never seen a scowl on his face before, but that was some scowl.

He wasn't defying you and he didn't look particularly shy. He just... we had no idea what he was doing? My husband and I were trying to guess what was up & our best guess was, "He's counting how many eyeballs are looking at him," but that guess is probably from experience. When one of ours did his first talk, he told us, "There were thirty-five eyeballs all looking at me. Gross!"

    What a crack-up. Thirty-five eyeballs.

  3. It's always fun to watch the Sunbeams do Primary.

  4. .

    RC--it's a wav--is that MS proprietary?

En-her-gy--why can't I comment on your blog? And thirty-five is such a tragic number!

  5. How freaking cute.

Don't know if you saw my post about my adventures in Primary yesterday---we had 1 child in Primary.

Yes, you read that correctly: 1.

So, they grabbed the 2 babies from Nursery and put them in Primary so we could have "Primary for 3", instead of 1.

it was really sad. Funny? Sad. Something.

  6. Thanks so much for the post. Being in a world of singles I miss the chance to hear such talks and scriptures. Thanks for the warm fuzzy.

  7. That was so cute! I loved the part when he got all whispery.
